The beautiful Masseria Pettolecchia is a gem in Italys best kept secret, its southern region of Apulia. It is a wonderland of ancient olive orchards that date back 2000 years which grow right up to the shores of the azure Adriatic Sea. If the picturesque coves and white stone architecture don’t get you, the food will. A perfect combination of its best exports, Puglia boasts some of most amazing farms and fisherman in Italy. Handmade pasta with flavorful vegetables paired with the most fresh fish in the sea - this is Apulia cuisine at its finest. This is a foodies dream and a photographers heaven. I came across the Masseria Pettelocchia la Residenza during a venue visit last fall with my friend Catherine of the Wedding Boutique Italy. I was struck immediately with the overwhelmingly beautiful landscape boasting acres upon acres of ancient olive trees. Stepping inside, I was transported to another time and place, mesmerized by the interior design and attention to detail. Filled with beautiful antiques and perfectly placed art and decor, the Masseria is an interior designers fairytale. The property has no less than 5 staff to accommodate the 5 suites, all accessible from the exterior. Fresh squeezed orange juice and pastries await every morning. The incredible Pettelocchia has a number of sister properties located not more than 10 minutes from one another; a beach club that overlooks the blue waters, an ancient fortress with incredible gardens and farms, and a smaller residence with similarly gorgeous interiors and pool. This is a must see for anyone visiting Italy and a must do for any engaged couples site visits.
